Laura - Founder
Hi, I am Laura James the founder of ‘Dance Works’. My passion for Dance started when I was 2 years old. I attended weekly classes at my local Dance Schools in all styles of Dance.
I competed in many competitions whilst also taking all my exams.
After finishing school I continued my performing training at Phil Winston Theatre Works in Blackpool. I soon realised my passion was in teaching. I’d always helped out with the classes whilst I was dancing.
The opportunity of taking over the Ballet and Tap Dance School came in 2001 and Dance Works was born. Even though I was only 17 I jumped at the chance. After 14 years of being Established in Bolton and adding two sons to the mix I decided it was time to branch out.
Dance Works Timperley opened in 2015.
I open Dance Works at Stonyhurst College and St Mary’s Hall in September 2021.
I love to work with children and adults who share the same passion for Dance as me.
IDTA Exams, Street Dance Competitions, Annual Shows and Stage performances are what we work towards in our weekly classes at Dance Works.
Hi, my name is Aaliyah My passion for dancing began around the age of six when I took part in regular jazz, tap and ballet classes.
My training is based around ballet (trained at the Centre of Advanced Training), tap, jazz, modern, hip hop and contemporary.
Having trained in a wide array of dance I chose to specialise in hip hop. I attended Loreto Sixth Form where I achieved an A Level in dance.

• UDO Northwest Champion 2015.
• UDO Midlands Champion 2014.
• UDO Yorkshire Street Dance Champion 2014.
• Opening Rick Ross’s concert, dancer for Manchester United Foundation, Platinum Music Video, and Opening JLS’s Hashtag party event.
Some of my teaching experience includes:
• Dance teacher at The Aim Sky High Company.
• Manchester United Foundation.
• Bolton Wanderers.
• Salford Red Devils.
• NCS and Active Dance – as well as private lessons.
My goal for the future is to continue learning and sharing dance with others and to continuously seek to enhance my own attributes.
I always look forward to challenging the children at Dance Works to reach their full potential!
